Interface Electronics for Soft-Serve Ice Cream Machines
User-friendly HMI and comprehensive control for the European market
For an international supplier of soft-serve ice cream machines, Syrinx developed a custom interface PCB that makes the machines suitable for the European market. This new electronics acts as the link between the existing internal machine components and additional functionalities required for European user and market requirements.
The interface features extensive I/O capabilities for controlling various additional components and for communication with the machine's internal systems. A key part of the solution is the integrated touch HMI, which allows the user to intuitively operate the machine, adjust settings, and perform maintenance. Furthermore, any malfunctions can be read out and resolved remotely via a 4G connection – a significant step towards predictive maintenance and minimal downtime.
The development of this hardware and software ran parallel to the design of the client's new generation of ice cream machines. Thanks to intensive and open communication between both R&D teams, the design could be optimally aligned with both technical and user-centric requirements. This close collaboration was a crucial factor in achieving a successful market introduction.
